Tuesday tips: Dave Nevison's three best bets

In his first column of the week, top tipster Dave Nevison shares his three best bets from Ripon on Tuesday, including one at double-figure odds.

2.10 Ripon: Cosmos Raj
There are some talented young riders in this apprentice event but the excellent Conor Whiteley claiming 3lb against his peers definitely takes the eye.
Add to that his mount Cosmos Raj’s recent return to form with a last time out win and a strong case can definitely be made.
David O’Meara’s eight-year-old has won races at Ripon, which is a track that often catches horses out due to the undulations, and is still lower than he was last season even after the recent win.
4.13 Ripon: Almarada Prince
Not many of these sprinters are in-form but Almarada Prince has been knocking at the door for some time now and could land an overdue success here.
Paul Midgely’s five-year-old ran an excellent second at York last time and, even though he has been raised 2lb since, he has plenty of form off marks higher than the 80 rating he runs off here.
He is also proven on easy ground, so his chance of defying top weight is obvious.

4.48 Ripon: Hopeful Joy
Hopeful Joy is a relatively lightly-raced maiden, but has run well on all three occasions and has run at this track, getting placed twice last season and then being unlucky in running last time out when finishing fifth running on well.
The Mark Walford-trained filly has been dropped a further 2lb in the handicap for that last run and could well still have upside in her against exposed types. At the forecast odds, she might be worth a bet.
