ENVOI ALLEN
It's often unwise to believe the hype but in Envoi Allen's case he continues to live up to it. Unbeaten in nine starts under Rules, he's the next superstar of National Hunt racing.
THE BIG GETAWAY
Described as "the biggest horse we've had" by Patrick Mullins in a recent stable tour on racingtv.com, he looks certain to take high rank amongst this season's novice chasers after creating a good impression over hurdles last term.
ALLAHO
Quickly progressed into one of last season's top staying novice chasers, impressing with his jumping and enthusiasm when an excellent third in the RSA. A young horse, rising seven, there should be plenty more to come from Allaho this year and I think, should Willie Mullins plot a path to the UK, he could be a big player in the King George over Christmas as his style will be suited to that track.
LOSTINTRANSLATION
Wasn't right in last year's King George but bounced back with an excellent third in the Gold Cup. Should be a big player in the Betfair Chase again this year and will hopefully have a busier campaign.
EPATANTE
Comfortable winner of the Champion Hurdle when last seen in March and could again dominate a two-mile division that lacks strength in depth.
A mare who impressed me with her progress over hurdles last season and came back with an encouraging chase debut recently. There'll be plenty of opportunities for a mare of her calibre novice chasing and I expect her to rack up several wins.
Nick Luck and Jonathan Neesom were taken with the potential of Clondaw Caitlin too...
A PLUS TARD
Still only a six-year-old, he's already achieved a lot for such a young chaser including when lowering the colours of Chacun Pour Soi at Leopardstown last Christmas. There's better still to come and he's effective over a range of distances to increase options.
THYME HILL
With the Stayers' Hurdle division quite open it looks a good move from Philip Hobbs to keep Thyme Hill hurdling. He was unlucky when meeting trouble in last season's Albert Bartlett and can progress into a leading player in the top 3m hurdles.
Talented, strong traveller who has his name on a big handicap prize.
MT LEINSTER
Hasn't quite lived up to early potential over hurdles but after a successful stint on the Flat this autumn he could now be set to progress.
