2.43 Hamilton: Thunderstorm Katie
Jim Goldie has had a tremendous season with 78 winners, at the time of writing. He places his string well and is particularly good with horses that run again quickly.
Thunderstorm Katie has had legitimate excuses for her three recent defeats and ran at Ayr on Thursday where a wide draw meant she was poorly placed in a slowly-run race.
There selection won here in August and looked set to go on a winning spree then, but various things have mitigated against her. I believe she can get back on track on Sunday.
2.58 Listowel: Jalia Moriviere
Jalia Moriviere looks capable of winning the Cheestrings Irish EBF Mares Hurdle for the Willie Mullins team.
She was beaten on her most recent outing in the Guinness Galway Hurdle where she was weak in the market and shaped as if she needed the run after a 13-week break, but still ran well to finish sixth.
This is much less competitive and she gets to race against her own sex. Given the drop in grade, and with that recent run behind her, she should be hard to beat.
4.43 Hamilton: Belsito
Belsito made all the running to win at
Hamilton last time out and has every chance of defying a 6lb rise in the weights here.
The speed figure that he produced there suggests that he is still well treated off a rating of 68, and he has won on soft ground before.
Kevin Ryan has his team in good form and I'm expecting Belsito to make all the running again in this small field.
5.13 Hamilton: Cascade Hall
This six-year-old may still be a maiden, but he takes a big drop in grade from a class three to a class six, and he was a decent second at this venue when he last ran in a similar grade to this.
He is a front-runner and there will be very little pace pressure here, which means Paul Mulrennan will be able to boss this race from the start.
Cascade Hall is another from the Jim Goldie academy who seems to have been found an ideal opportunity.
