Our presenter Angus McNae expects a good day for Willie Mullins and shares his best bets for Sunday's action, featuring the BARONERACING.COM Leinster National at Naas and a good card from Limerick. Enjoy all the action live on Racing TV.
Two winners and a runner-up only beaten in a photo was a decent return from four selections last week and I have four more for you this week, where I expect Willie Mullins to preface a very good Cheltenham Festival with a few winners.
This recruit from France can get off the mark at the first time of asking for Willie Mullins.
Instit won on her debut at Pau and has joined a yard where fillies and mares tend to thrive. She has had some acclimatisation time since moving to Ireland, but horses off a lay-off rarely lack for fitness from this yard and she has been found a decent opportunity here.
Man O Work sets a decent standard and would have been placed but for falling last time out at Fairyhouse, but it may prove a tough ask to give Insit 7lbs and I take her to make a successful start to her Irish career.
Another selection from the Willie Mullins yard, and one that remains with a load of potential despite defeat last-time out.
That defeat came at the hands of Slip of the Tongue who is in opposition again here, but with a 3lbs pull and a more judicious ride I believe Deploy the Getaway can turn the tables. He tanked to the front three-out going best last time, but was there to be shot at thereafter and he was duly caught at the last and defeated by ¾ of a length.
If Deploy The Getaway is ridden more patiently and produced late I have no doubt we will see a much-improved performance and a reversal of that recent form.
He looks thoroughly progressive having won his last two starts and suggests there is more to come.
I liked the way that Macs Charm breezed into contention last time at Gowran Park before surging clear to win by 6½ lengths. He has taken a 13lb hike in the weights and will need to be better but I don't think he has maxed himself out in terms of handicapping and is certainly capable of winning again.
Brain Hayes gets a good tune out of Macs Charm and this looks to be a decent opportunity to complete the hat-trick.
El Barra has only had two starts over fences and has more to give.
He ran very well when third to Cheltenham-bound Saint Sam last time, travelling as well as the winner until the second-last before losing out to that very useful rival. That effort proved that he is undoubtedly a better chaser than hurdler and this is an ideal opportunity with nothing of the class of Saint Sam here. In his previous start over fences he chased home the very useful Blue Lord and thus both his bits of form over fences make him an outstanding choice here.
This should be another winner for Willie Mullins, albeit at a short price.
