Top analyst Angus McNae has four selections at Tramore and Pontefract this Sunday - catch both meetings live on Racing TV!
3.00 Tramore: May Call You Back
There is more to come from this mare, who is three from five since joining Willie Mullins.
She has mixed chasing and hurdling, and seems to be proficient in both spheres. She is back over hurdles now and, when last seen over the smaller obstacles, she was an easy ten-length winner at Tramore.
Her recent defeat over fences at Wexford is not representative of her ability given that it came just four days after a win at Tipperary and she appeared to bounce turned out quickly. A pause will have refreshed her and she should be back to her best today.
4.00 Tramore : Coole Cherry
This is Paul Townend's only ride at the meeting and everything looks to be in place for a it being a successful foray to Tramore.
Coole Cherry is a bit inconsistent, but this switch to chasing may bring about some improvement in her given that she was a solid jumper of a hurdle (with a Race iQ Jump Index of 7.5).
She stays well and, at a track that suits prominent racers, she could dominate this race under a positive ride.
4.12 Pontefract: Equity Law
This horse is well treated on the balance of his three-year-old form and duly obliged last time out with a fast time win at Thirsk off 72.
A 3 lb rise for that succes is far from harsh and, with the Tim Easterby team in great form, he looks sure to go well again. It is a small field race and there are doubts over the form of some of his rivals, so he looks to be a solid play.
5.12 Pontefract: Carlton and Co
Carlton and Co was a cosy winner of a class 6 at Redcar last time out and the step up in grade to a class 5 should not prevent her winning again given that she remains on a handy mark.
She is well drawn in stall 2 which will suit his prominent style of racing, which is never a negative at this track, and a 4lb rise in the weights should not be enough to stop her going in again.
