Letsbefrank came up just half a length short in his pursuit of a Sky Bet Sunday Series hat-trick at the latest meeting of the the season at Thirsk, finishing third in the Sky Bet Extra Places Handicap over a mile and a half.
Jim Goldie's son of Frankel was up 5lb for his latest victory and was again partnered by Lauren Young, and was sent off at odds of 9-2 after Series wins at Musselburgh and Hamilton. Although the six-year-old comfortably accounted for the favourite, he could not get the better of Valley Of Flowers and the patiently-ridden winner Brielle, who scored for David O'Meara and Danny Tudhope.
Young's mount is still in the hunt for the £100,000 Sky Bet Sunday Series bonus he won in 2024 and is therefore a likely runner at the next/final Sky Bet Sunday Series meeting at Pontefract on August 16.

It was not long, however, before Jim Goldie (who hit a century of winners in 2025) got on the Sky Bet Sunday Series scoresheet. The Lanarkshire handler saddled Mountain Road to victory in the two-mile Sky Bet For The Fans Handicap.
Ridden by Paul Mulrennan, the seven-year-old ran on strongly from off the pace to score by a length and a half at odds of 9-1, despite being 4lb below his last winning mark. Though this was his fourth run of the season, his reappearance at Musselburgh in April came off the back of a huge absence. He may well have more to give this season once reassessed.
Elsewhere on the card in Yorkshire, the Robert Cowell-trained Dazzling Haze made the long journey up from Cambridgeshire a successful one when blazing a trail in the Flutter Proud To Support Young Lives Vs Cancer Handicap over the minimum trip.
Ridden to victory by leading Northern jockey Jason Hart, the three-year-old filly was making just her second start for her current handler, both of which have came at Thirsk. The daughter of A'Ali was fifth here in April on her first start after leaving Simon and Ed Crisford, for whom she won twice.
The top-rated runner in Sunday's race, she showed tremendous early speed and kept rolling late on to score by a length. She looks one worth following next time up in grade.
Watch: Letsbefrank won the £100,000 bonus two years' ago.
