Sean Levey will miss the final night of this year’s Racing League after being stood down by the British Horseracing Authority for “medical reasons”.
The Swaziland-born rider leads the jockeys’ standings in the team competition after landing five winners from 17 rides and accumulating 228 points – 59 points clear of closest pursuer Harrison Shaw.
Levey had three booked rides for the sixth and final night at Newcastle, but was taken off Miss Down Under at Sandown on Wednesday and will not be in action at Gosforth Park, where he is part of the table-topping London and The South team.
He is also set to miss Friday’s action at Newbury where he had six booked rides.
Levey’s agent, Sashi Righton, said: “Sean has been stood down by the BHA for medical reasons.”
When contacted, the BHA declined to comment, stating instead that the issue was “confidential”.

Constitution Hill won his his second start on the Flat in taking fashion at Kempton Park.
The former champion hurdler had dazzled on his belated Flat debut at Southwell last month and again won in taking style under Ryan Moore in the 1m 4f Virgin Bet Novice Stakes.
Sent off at 1-7, he settled well in fifth on the rail place before Moore switched him three out and invited the A-Lister to put his stamp on things.
He showed his customary acceleration, hitting 40.49mph in the penultimate furlong, and crossed the line two lengths clear of Classical Illusion. His split for the eleventh furlong was an impressive 11.17sec.
Moore said: “He’s a gentleman and I think the horse is enjoying his runs on the Flat. He moves really well and I think there will be plenty more improvement to come. He went to the line with his ears pricked.
“We don’t know that yet (his level), he will tell us. We will know more on his next one.
“I think he’s very comfortable at 12 (furlongs). (It was a ) slowly-run race, but it’s fine.”
