Top presenter and pundit Martin Dixon marks your card for races at Newmarket and Newbury on Saturday.
2.05 Newmarket: Cayman Tai each-way at a general 10-1
There are other progressive three-year-olds in this year's Grey Horse Handicap, namely Binhareer and Addison Grey, but they'll dominate the market and I think at bigger odds Cayman Tai represents some each-way value. He's as big as 10-1 at the time of typing
After a break and gelding operation, Cayman Tai returned in late July with an excellent second in a competitive handicap at Wolverhampton, looking more relaxed than he had previously, and I got the impression that he would strip fitter for that run.
His early-season second to Dark Cloud Rising at Pontefract is strong form and he's a strong-travelling sort ideally served by fast ground and a strongly-run race which looks on the cards.
2.25 Newbury: Glamorous Breeze each-way at a general 9-1
Chris Mason has his small team of horses in terrific form this season (eight winners and 14 more placed from only 40 runners in 2025) and his seven-y-o mare, Glamorous Breeze, has already had a fine season herself with a couple of wins on the board. She's my nap for Saturday.
She's run well in big fields at Ascot on her past two starts, against a draw bias last time when behind the likes of Rhythm And Hooves and King Of Stars who reoppose, and I'm hoping from stall 3 here she will be in the right place on the track this time directly behind some of the trailblazers in what should be a strongly-run race.
3.15 Newmarket: Awaafi at 3-1 with bet365
Although Awaafi was good enough to win over 5f on her debut, on both starts since she's given the firm impression that stepping up to this 7f distance would bring about more improvement.
She's likely to race prominently, which I like at this track, especially as the pace probably will not be a strong one here, and her course experience is also an advantage, having finished second on her recent nursery bow when splitting another pair of progressive types.
