2.25 Newmarket: Kiniro (each-way)
Trainer Dan Horsford has done well with his small team this year, and Kiniro is well treated now on the pick of his efforts in the summer, including when second at Newbury off 3lb higher in June.
His latest outing is easy to ignore as he had a wide trip around Kempton, and didn't settle without cover. He shouldn't have any such problems this time back on a straight track in what looks set to be a strongly-run race.
He'll need a little bit of luck in running, but remains unexposed over this trip, and if the gaps come at the right time, I think he's as well handicapped as any of these.
2.30 Ayr: Wicket Keeper (each-way)
Obviously in a 25-runner sprint handicap, there are cases to be made for plenty, and there's a relative 'lottery' element to it, given so much needs to go right to win these races.
As such, I won't be getting heavily involved, but I can't let Wicket Keeper go unbacked at odds of 50-1, at the time of writing.
Anthony Britain's four-year-old is very lightly-raced having had only nine career starts, and he looked a bright prospect when winning twice for Ed Bethell in 2025.
On his debut for current connections in March, I thought he ran a blinder when fourth at Newcastle in a competitive race, coming home first of a group of six that raced over the far side that day.
His two starts since are easily excusable as he's been poorly placed each time and, although we've not seen him since May, he's always gone well fresh after a break.
He is well handicapped off a mark of 87, and if the cards drop right for him, I think he has a chance at a huge price.
3.40 Ayr: Far Above Dream
I'm not aiming for quite such a big upset in the Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup on Saturday, but I've believed, since his win at Newbury in the Spring, that Far Above Dream would land one of these major sprint handicaps before long, and he's continued his remarkable consistency with good runs in the Wokingham and Stewards' Cup.
He then suffered an agonising defeat by a nose in the Constantine at York last time out, and the only upshot to that is that he is able to race here off the same mark of 99, so there's no question he's well-in at the weights.
Personally, I think he could be even better on softer ground as I'm mindful of how impressive he was in the mud at Goodwood last season. He's a best priced 17-2, at the time of writing, and I'll have a decent each-way bet at that price.
