Our Irish racing expert Johnny Ward looks at a high-class Saturday of racing in Ireland, featuring potential Classic clues for next season on an informative Curragh card and decent jumps action at Killarney. Enjoy dedicated coverage from both meetings live on Racing TV Extra.
Exercise might be good for the body and soul but if you fancy a day to just laze about and leave the couch only for food, drink and toilet breaks, you could have picked a worse one.
Not only have we brilliant action at York: in Ireland Killarney flows into the Curragh, which stages a high-class Flat card.
One striking talking point of many at the Curragh is Discoveries running in the race that honours her full sister, the Alpha Centauri Debutante Stakes (6.05).
Be lucky.

A well-bred mare bought by what were the connections of The Shunter. Trainer Peter Croke has had one winner from 47 runners since the start of last season, though his overall strike-rate is respectable. However, new trainer Emmet Mullins' (20% in Irish jumps races) is staggering and it seems telling this horse is entered again on Monday, possibly under a penalty. She has shown form and is running off a paltry 81.
This mare is the dam's fourth foal and, remarkably, the other three have all already won races. Her sire, Network, gets plenty of lookers and Elite Des Mottes is almost sure to be a better chaser, judging by both her physique and the way she jumped at Cork. Very well-backed then, she cantered through the race and looks better than this mark. With 18 runners here she is an absolutely knocking each-way bet.
This colt looks really promising. He didn't have much cover for much of his debut here 13 days ago but was very late off the bridle and beat everything bar two well-backed and promising horses.
HMS Endeavour is not certain to improve and the tongue tie aboard Straight Answer is off-putting. This one makes massive appeal. Jim Bolger has a much higher hit-rate with juveniles in Ireland this season than with older horses, despite the remarkable efforts of another son of Dawn Approach, Poetic Flare.
It's a long time since the days of Native Upmanship and even Mansony. Arthur Moore would surely love another very good horse and he probably has one in Me Too Please.
Despite being out of a Flat-bred mare and by Champs Elysees, she had enough stamina to win a Grade Two bumper in April at Aintree. She duly routed her rivals in a mile-and-a-half Flat maiden at Roscommon but what is more striking is she was sent off 11/8 against Saldier (rated 99; subsequently won Galway Hurdle) and Brogue (rated 93) - even though she had to give Saldier 7lbs!
Me Too Please was probably a bit flat then at Listowel but far from disgraced in third and it is interesting that the fourth-placed Effernock Fizz won well in a handicap off 74 next time. She travels so well I feel she should make into a stakes horse, but she's in off 85 here.
