Tuesday tips: Dave Nevison's three best bets

Railway Bell obviously needed her reappearance where she met defeat for the first time, still finishing a respectable fourth, but she improved greatly when winning a decent mares handicap at Ludlow.

She is closely related to stayers and steps up to two and a half miles here, which is very likely to bring about further improvement. Her prominent style of racing will be well suited to Market Rasen and, even though she has to concede weight all round, she looks the strongest option.

Little Ledgend is another who has been waiting for a step up in trip and can finally break his maiden now he tries three miles. Olly Murphy’s seven-year-old is by Yeats, so improvement at this trip looks pretty much assured, and he is definitely in good enough form to win a race such as this.

He has finished runner-up on both of his latest starts and ran particularly well when beaten just three lengths at Taunton last time.

Being a beaten favourite on both recent starts might be a concern, but I feel the step up in distance should enable Little Ledgend to get home in front. 

If the cheekpieces have the same effect  as they had last time out then the 5lb Major Fortune has been raised will not be enough to stop him following up.

Dan Skelton’s gelding was a prolific winner over hurdles for the yard but, until last time, things hadn’t really clicked over fences.

However, he looked transformed last time out and is racing under very similar conditions here. He could well have further improvement in him and clearly goes well for Harry Skelton.
