Ryan Moore will provide an exclusive blog and content for World Pool for the 2025 season
World Pool, the globe’s largest commingled horse racing pools created and powered by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, has partnered with four-time LONGINES World’s Best Jockey Ryan Moore for the 2025 season.
Stable jockey to Aidan O’Brien’s powerful Ballydoyle operation, the 41-year-old has ridden Group One winners all over the world and will be riding at many of the major World Pool meetings this year.
In his role as an ambassador, Moore will provide regular blogs and insight ahead of key World Pool racedays, as well as being featured in advertising and marketing campaigns.
World Pool ambassador Moore said: “World Pool has been such an important addition to the entire racing industry over the past few years and I’m delighted to be an ambassador for the brand.
“The Hong Kong Jockey Club should be congratulated for all the effort and investment they’ve put into it. I’ve always said that Hong Kong is the blueprint for the way horseracing should be run, and World Pool is helping to amplify the very best racing on a global stage. It’s great that racing fans from around the world get the chance to bet into these large pools.
“It’s important that the racing world starts to work together, and to have everyone pulling in the same direction. If we’re speaking with one voice and trying to achieve the same goals it will really help the whole sport to prosper. World Pool plays a big part in that, and I look forward to being part of that journey.”
Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Chief Executive Officer at the Hong Kong Jockey Club, said: “Ryan Moore has been at the pinnacle of our sport for many years and it is fitting that a world-class jockey of such international renown and respect is an ambassador for World Pool.
“Not only is Ryan a world-class jockey, he is also a highly intelligent individual who is passionate about racing and its future. He recognises the benefits that World Pool provides to racing all over the world and we couldn’t think of a better person to represent the brand.
“As a four-time winner of the LONGINES World’s Best Jockey Award, Ryan’s accomplishments in horse racing jurisdictions around the world speak to his professionalism and his advocacy of the World Pool’s positive impact on horseracing globally aligns with our vision.
“We had a strong 2024 with World Pool and we are continuing to grow it in 2025 with more fixtures, more races and more split cards. New Zealand is hosting World Pool races for the first time, while all 12 Hong Kong Group 1s in 2025 will be run under the World Pool banner.”
In 2024, the HKJC announced that its contribution to British and Irish racecourses from World Pool had hit £50 million.
The UK and Ireland Flat season was brought to a record-breaking close, as a 12-race composite card from Australia and British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday 19 October generated HK$424.1m (£48m) in World Pool betting turnover, the highest recorded on a single day. That helped carry the season’s total turnover to HK$4.6bn (approx. £455m).
In 2025, World Pool has already covered new ground with its first meeting in New Zealand for Railway Stakes Day, as well as debut fixtures in Australia, Hong Kong and the UAE.
World Pool’s next fixtures will be Futurity Stakes Day at Caulfield, Australia, and Saudi Cup Day at King Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday 22nd February, followed by the Hong Kong Gold Cup and Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup at Sha Tin on the Sunday.
