Dave Nevison's tips: "I think he could go well at a decent price"

This is a really competitive race of its type and it seems Gary Moore is determined to win it with three representatives in the field. 

Casa Loupi looks the strongest of Moore's trio and having won on Grand Military Gold Cup Day recently, it does look as though he has been targeted at these traditional fixtures. 

His win last time, on his reappearance, came in a weaker race than this, but he won it by seven lengths and has only been raised 3lb, which looks generous. 

Conditions were similar to what they will be here, too, and to be proven in what will always be a slog on the hurdles course is a big plus.

The final clincher for me is the 8lb claim of Rob Hargreaves who is riding very well, but will be desperate to end a sequence of seconds that has seen him finish runner-up on six of his past ten rides.

Maybe it was the four months break or even the reapplication of the hood, but Laura Morgan has transformed We Got Your Back recently and he looks set to complete a hat-trick here. 

His winning run started at this track off a rating of just 77 at the end of last year and he was more impressive when following up at Catterick last time out, where Adam Wedge waited to take it up at the last, but won with authority. 

Those two wins came over the minimum trip but he stays this far and although he is up to a mark of 86 now, he has run well off higher ratings over hurdles in the past.

Now that he has finally hit form, his rating shouldn’t stop him from scoring again.

I backed this long-standing maiden last time out and although beaten 27 lengths, I wasn’t prepared to totally write him off, and I am giving him another chance in another modest handicap. 

Harel Du Marais drifted markedly on his return in January and shaped very much like a horse who needed the race, going well until making a mistake and gradually dropping back. 

He has run well over hurdles and over fences at this track off much higher marks than this, and clearly goes well at Leicester. 

Hopefully he will strip fitter now and, if so, I think he could go well at a decent price.
