Race 1 | G2 Lowther Stakes I ride
BINT ARCHANGE for Jaber Abdullah.
I won on her in a Listed race at Sandown but she has been beaten in the Super Sprint since, so she will need to improve again.
This is a very competitive race with a few good fillies like Libertango and Star Of State, who’s Jaber’s other runner, in the race. She’s probably the one to beat.
I ride
SUN GODDESS in the sales race.
She will be a strong favourite; she won the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes on her last start as well as a Group 2 prior to that.
She has a clear class edge on the field. Obviously, there are 22 runners, so she’ll need a degree of luck, but she is the leading contender.
Race 4 | G1 Yorkshire Oaks I’ aboard
MINNIE HAUK in the Yorkshire Oaks.
She won the race last year amongst a very good three-year-old campaign, which culminated with a second in the Arc.
She came back well at the start of the year and ran a great race behind Ombudsman in the Prince of Wales’s.
Things just didn’t work out for her in the King George, but she likes York and the mile-and-a-half [2371m] there suits her well.
We face Kalpana who won the King George so she will have to reverse form with her, but perhaps we didn’t see the best of her and hopefully, if she is back at her best, she will give Kalpana a race.
Race 5 | Listed Galtres Stakes I won a couple of races on
MORROPHORE at the end of last year and at the start of this year on the all-weather.
I think the mile-and-a-half [2371m] at York will suit her well, obviously it’s her first run since January, but she felt the kind of filly that could improve with time.
It’s a competitive race but she has every chance.
