Romanised handed Solario Stakes option by Ken Condon

Romanised could try to put his Phoenix Stakes disappointment behind him in Saturday's Solario Stakes at Sandown.

The Holy Roman Emperor colt finished sixth, beaten three and a quarter lengths by Sioux Nation, in the Curragh Group One earlier this month, leaving his trainer Ken Condon a little deflated.

However, Romanised will take a step up in trip and a dip in class to Group Three level if he lines up on a retrieval mission at the Esher track.

Condon said: "I was disappointed with his last run, there's no getting away from that. He was only beaten three lengths, but we were still left a bit disappointed really.

"He's a talented horse, but the ground was quick that day and he was a little bit jarred up afterwards. Nothing out of the ordinary, though.

"We will probably step him up in trip to seven furlongs now and we have entered him for the Solario at Sandown on Saturday. We'll have a look at the entries and see where we go."

David Menuisier is planning to send Vintager on a fact-finding assignment at Sandown following a length-and-a-half victory in a seven-furlong maiden at Newmarket on his racecourse bow.

Menuisier said: "He's entered in the Solario and we'll have a look at the entries, but that is likely to be where we go.

"He did run well at Newmarket and he's a nice horse, so we'll see how we go."

Romanised and Vintager feature among 13 entries for the Solario, with Richard Hannon having both De Bruyne Horse and Tangled in the mix, while Clive Cox could also be double-handed with Grand Koonta and Connect.

Mark Johnston has the choice of last week's impressive York winner Dream Today and Ventura Knight.

Arbalet, Hey Gaman, Initiative, Masar and Purser are also entered.
