Rachel Candelora's top tips for Wednesday: Kasbah can rock at Bath

Presenter Rachel Candelora found four winners from four tips last week at accumulative odds of almost 36-1. She has another quartet for Wednesday.
Happy 4th of July! A holiday in the States that brings out the picnics, parades, fireworks and don’t forget the American Flags – they are everywhere.
And as is typical with a National Holiday the racing is amazing – not necessarily on the 4th itself but on the weekend closest to it and this year it will be this coming Saturday.

Take a look at Belmont Park, where they are hosting their fifth Stars and Stripes Racing Festival, an absolute fest of racing that sees the Grade 1 Belmont Derby and Oaks on the turf for the three-year-olds, the Grade 2 Suburban and Belmont Sprint Championship, and the Grade 3 Dwyer Stakes.
The Dwyer Stakes may be of the most interest in an international context as this mile dirt contest for three-year-olds is set to feature Mendelssohn, who will be having his first run since his heavy defeat in the Kentucky Derby..
Aidan O’Brien has said that this may be the first of three US more assignments for the latter half of year with the Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby and the Breeders’ Cup Classic being the other two.
Mark Johnston has had 35 two-year-old victories this season and Light Heart looks set to give the trainer his 36th.
On debut this son of Excelebration ran well to be a half-length second to the Richard Fahey-trained Society Queen over six furlongs at Ayr.
This was a good performance as the two bumped several times in the final furlong and the winner’s previous previous experience served her well to get the win.
Now Light Heart has the experience and the extra furlong of today’s trip will suit as his half-brother won over 9f in the Group 3 Prix de Guiche before finishing fourth in the Group One Prix Du Jockey Club this season.
As is typical of a Mark Johnston trainee Light Heart went forward on debut and and with none of his other rivals showing any early pace in their previous races this may just be a case of catch me if you can.
The opening race at Kempton is an apprentice handicap and Madrinho is a horse who has been thriving of late in these sort of races - winning two of them under Poppy Bridgewater, who keeps the mount.
Last time out he was unlucky that the winner got the jump on him to finish second in a good time at Thirsk and today he drops back down in grade to the level of his last win at Salisbury.
Trainer Tony Carroll is continuing his fine vein of form this summer and has found what looks to be a relatively easy contest for Madrinho to notch up his third win in 2018.
As a hold-up horse it appears on paper that he may get the perfect set up as his seven rivals all tend to be on or near the pace.
This is an interesting handicap and reminds me a bit of American racing where there are “conditions” attached to most races. This race has the added condition of being for horses who have not won in 2018.
With that in mind the Amanda Perrett-trained Kasbah looks like a good play here as he had the misfortune of running into a good thing last week at Salisbury in the shape of Rio Ronaldo.
Kasbah beat the rest well enough and Jim Crowley, who rode him for the first time at Salisbury, stays aboard and the blinkers go back on after four runs with no headgear.
The Japanese-bred Heart of Grace was an impressive winner on debut over 10 furlongs at Goodwood in May and has a great chance to go in again in this fillies’ novice.
I was lucky enough to be at Goodwood that night and was able to see her in the flesh and she is a big, strong filly who will only get better as she continues to grow into herself.
The added two furlongs will suit as she did not do anything quickly on debut but once she got into a rhythm she rolled home.
James Doyle has opted to keep the ride on her and a flat, galloping track will suit. Stall 12 of 14 may not be ideal but given her size, and how she ran on debut, it should not be that much of an inconvenience. Connections think enough of her to have given her a Lillie Langtry entry at the Qatar Goodwood Festival.
