Finishing Speed Percentage at Cheltenham: 104.62%.
This stamina-bred six-year-old was having only his third start over hurdles when an excellent second in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.
He got a Jump Index score of 7.9 out of 10, and he stayed on resolutely, being faster than
The Passing Wife, who he meets again, in each of the final three furlongs.
✅ 5.25 KING ALEXANDER
Career Jump Index: 7.9. Lengths Gained Jumping This Season: 44.34.
Lengths Gained Jumping over all fences: 45 out of 56.
King Alexander was a good jumper of hurdles and has kept up the good work over fences, gaining 44.34 lengths in his four races over the larger obstacles.
He was a fine fourth in the Jack Richards at Cheltenham last time, on ground probably on the quick side for him. That looks a strong piece of form, and it has already been boosted.
✅ GAELIC WARRIOR
Career Jump Index: 8.3.
Top Speed This Season: 35.80mph
(Gold Cup).
Lengths Gained Jumping This Season: 44.37.
Gaelic Warrior scaled new heights when a commanding winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup last month, and Jango Baie and Grey Dawning, who were left trailing in his wake, have franked the form with their subsequent Grade 1 wins at Aintree.
He has gained more than 44 lengths with his jumping this season, and his only defeat in four starts at Punchestown was inflicted by Il Etait Temps over two miles a couple of years ago. He can cap a great season by mastering old rival Fact To File.
