Pontefract and Perth get green light after track passes inspection

Thu 28 Sep 2017

This afternoon's meetings at Pontefract and Perth go ahead after the tracks passed inspections.

Officials called a 9.30am check at Pontefractr after 17 millimetres of rain overnight had resulted in some small areas of standing water on the track.

However, conditions are reported to have improved and the course is fit for action, with the ground described as heavy.

The meeting at Perth also goes ahead.

Clerk of the course Harriet Graham had planned to assess conditions at 8am but was able to give the meeting the thumbs-up earlier than planned.

The track is reported to be heavy, with six millimetres of rain having fallen overnight.
