On Monday we look to a tough card of all-weather action at
Dundalk in search of a winning line in a valuable Tote Placepot pool.
Fingers crossed our handy pointers and suggested perm can get the week off to a winning start.
How’s the going?
The Polytrack surface at
Dundalk will be standard.
The Big Trend
SESTRIERE (Leg 2, 2.45pm) runs for trainer Kevin Prendergast, who has fired in 10 winners from 32 (31%) at Dundalk this season, recording a +£53.75 profit to level stakes. This horse is his only runner within the pool today and has placed in seven of his last 11 starts, meaning that he is Placepot friendly more often than now. With new headgear on and a tongue-tie applied, the four-year-old looks set to run well under top pilot Chris Hayes.
Placepot Banker
SALTONSTALL (Leg 4, 3.45pm) has looked very smart in winning his last two at Limerick and Naas, seeing his official mark rise to 111. He faces Group 1 performer Romanised, who is rated 6lb higher, but the selection gets 4lb and the 7lb claim of the very useful Sam Ewing. This looks a match, but we’ll side with the rising force at these weights.
Outsiders to Consider
AMAZING ONE (Leg 6, 4.50pm) runs off a mark of 50 today which is very workable on the best of his form and in an open race, TJ O’Mara’s charge might be over-priced to run a nice race under Tom Madden. Provided a decent pace and perhaps a more enterprising ride early on, the 6yo could sneak into the frame today after two fairly eye-catching course and distance efforts recently.
Torpedo Leg
Leg 1 of the pool is at 2.15pm and is an open looking fight for the places between 5-6 horses in this maiden contest over 5f and it could prove to be a tricky heat for many Placepot perms today. With that in mind, we’ll side with these two horses to ensure we proceed without hindrance:
