It's great news for racing fans that Warwick's Kingmaker Chase Day card has been pushed back 48 hours from Saturday to make it a mouth-watering Monday afternoon.
There's a seven-race offering at the West-Midlands track on Monday afternoon and Placepot insurance is available at
Warwick.
If your bet goes down in the first leg, we'll refund your stake up to £10. T&Cs apply.
It's a quality card, with the Grade Two Agetur UK Kingmaker Novices' Chase, the third leg of the Placepot, being the feature race. There is also a fascinating Listed contest for mares at 15:25 which will be the fourth leg.
The most recent
Warwick meeting yielded a Placepot dividend of £24 earlier this month. It could be much higher on Monday as there are a couple of competitive handicap races to get through.
The going is currently 'soft', 'good to soft' in places on the chase course and 'soft' on the hurdles track.
The Big Trend
Dan Skelton and Harry Shelton are the top trainer and top jockey respectively at Warwick over the last three years, which is no surprise given this is their local track. They have some excellent chances on the card, none more so than their Grade 1 novice chase winner ALLMANKIND (14:50 - Leg 3).
The in-form duo also team up with OLDGRANGEWOOD (15:55 - Leg 5) who can be favoured over stablemate Spiritofthegames. He is an experienced chaser who rarely runs a bad race over fences and this contest looks ideal.
MOLLY OLLYS WISHES (15:25 - Leg 4) is stepping up in class to Listed level against her own sex. She is bidding to complete a hat-trick of wins and must not be discounted from doing so.
Placepot Banker
PAUL'S SAGA (15:25 - Leg 4) makes the trip over from France for trainer David Cottin. We've not seen many French raiders on these shores this season so it will be great to get a look at this talented mare as she takes on her counterparts from the UK. She was successful in a Grade One contest at Auteuil earlier in the season and is the standout runner in this field, for what should be a good warm up for next month's Festival.
Outsider to consider
POP THE CORK (14:20 - Leg 2) is back down in trip here after a disappointing performance at Wetherby last time out. Jonjo O'Neill's runner is very capable off this latest mark and he represents a yard which are in good form so a big run can be expected.
BALLYMAGROARTY BOY (16:30 - Leg 6) recently returned to hurdles after a fruitless campaign over fences where he was 0-6. He was third of 10 in that run over this C&D back in December. The handicapper has helped his chances further this time as he is down 1lb in the weights. The blinkers are on for the first time so don't rule him out.
Torpedo Leg
LECALE'S ARTICLE (13:50 - Leg 1) got off to a winning start over hurdles at the back end of last year but this task in the opener looks much tougher, with enough runners in the field to pose a strong challenge. Stellar Magic is unbeaten in three starts and also looks to be a nice prospect, while point-to-point winner Benny's Oscar is interesting on debut.
