We were delighted to win the Challow with No Drama This End, that was our seventh win in the race including five of the last six years, it's a great race for us.
I'll have to make an effort to find one for the race next year but it won't be easy to find one like No Drama This End, he was awesome. But he had to do it in his own way, he wasn't doing a lot in front at all but one little back-hander after the last and he took off and won with plenty in hand.
We're thrilled with him, he's come out of the race fine and if all goes well he'll go straight to the Turners Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. He' not going to run in the three-mile race (Albert Bartlett), he's got too much speed, you could see him having enough tow for a Supreme if the ground was heavy but he won't be entered in that, the Turners is the race for him.
It was obviously a great day for him, with No Drama This End winning like that and Minella Yoga winning also, it's great to to have two really nice young horses and potentially another smart one in Minella Yoga. So yes, it was a great day and a great Christmas really.

The highlight of 2025

Anytime you have some good winners is always a great time. I enjoyed Aintree this year with Caldwell Potter and Kalif Du Berlais winning Grade 1s, but Caldwell Potter's win at Cheltenham was without a shadow of a doubt one of my highlights and we look forward to him coming back next year.

Cheltenham Runners

12.50 Cheltenham: Regent's Stroll
I looked at the programme and there wasn't a whole heap of races in January so my idea was to give him a run here and possibly get some Cheltenham experience and a bit more education into him, and then have a month off before looking at some of those better races in February, March, April.
He seems well, he hasn't done a whole heap since he last ran. Interesting to me is that all his wins have been on flat tracks apart from his Ascot bumper win so it will interesting to see how he operates at Cheltenham on an undulating track.
He'll have to focus his mind and jump well, but the ground's good, which he loves, so I'm looking forward to seeing him run.
1.25 Cheltenham: Inch House
He was a bit unfortunate at Newbury in the Coral Gold Cup. It was a competitive race, but it was a chaotic start, they went flat out down to the first and he made a mistake and pulled a shoe off in the process and was never really travelling after that. Once you miss the break and miss the first fence you're in serious trouble.
So I'd put a line through that race. A smaller field today, calmer waters, nice ground, I'd like to think he'll run well.
2.00 Cheltenham: Twinjets
He's gone up 11lb for his last two wins but I think he's been very impressive and put up a career-best the last day at Newbury, he won very well and we seem to have him in great order.
The big key to this is the ground, he loves good ground. Often at this time of the year you wouldn't be looking at ground that's in his favour so as long as he acts on the track at Cheltenham, which I'm sure he will, then he must have a lovely chance.
2.00 Cheltenham: Il Ridoto
He loves Cheltenham but I'm not sure if he's been at his best the last two runs. He seems better in himself at the moment, he's worked nicely and looks great.
Again the key to him is the ground and also the fact that he's only going to carry 10st 4lb with Freddie Keighley's claim. He always goes well for a claimer so there's a lot in his favour really, small field, don't be surprised if he runs a big race.
The last time he ran they went no gallop at all, it was a sprint from the last. He loves a good gallop so with his low weight we'll ride him a little differently and make plenty of use of him and I'm sure he'll give Freddie a lovely ride.
3.40 Cheltenham: Roximan
He was third at Wincanton in November and he takes on the two that finished ahead of him again, but I think he'll improve massively on that run, Harry wasn't too hard on him. Stiffer track will suit him nicely, I'll need to make sure the ground is okay as I'd prefer it a bit slower but he's a lovely young horse who will run well if taking his chance.

Exeter Runners

1.10 Exeter: Beauty In The Park
I think she'll improve on her seasonal debut, I just hope it doesn't dry out too much so we'll monitor that, she just need to get some experience.
4.00 Exeter: Le Cold Grey
Nice young horse by Cokorico, but circumstances have meant he hasn't been away for a gallop anywhere so whatever he does he'll improve for the experience definitely, so he'd be one to watch for the future.

Musselburgh Runners

12.30 Musselburgh: Falls Of Acharn
He's won twice over of a mile on the Flat, his last two runs, he won them very nicely actually, quite snugly. I was looking for an easy track to make his debut over hurdles because there's an obvious issue with his stamina, you've got to see if he stays.
He's very laid back at home, he's done lots and lots of jumping so we're looking for a good run.
1.40 Musselburgh: Fasol
He's gone up 2lb for his last win but the mare that he beat that day has won since. Two and a half miles and a flat track will suit him well. His record tells you he'd hard to win with but he might just strike up a good relationship with Olive. I'm sure two and a half miles is a big plus for him, he'll run very well.
2.15 Musselburgh: Insurrection
He's making his seasonal debut, he's starting a little later this time around but he seems in good shape, he worked very well the other day at Wincanton with Minella Yoga, I was thrilled with that piece of work.
He's ready, he won at Musselburgh last year, right-handed flat track suits, there's lots of positives for him in a competitive race.
2.51 Musselburgh: Jena D'Oudairies
She wants decent ground and the more it dries the better. She's been disappointing but it was far too soft for her at Chepstow the last day and it didn't work out for her. I wouldn't be surprised if she ran an awful lot better.
3.25 Musselburgh: Adafil
He loves Musselburgh, in the last few years he's won there and run very well on a few other occasions and he was very unlucky at Sandown the last day in a very competitive race, he missed the break and was too far out of his ground, so he ran very well considering.
I'd like to think on a track that he likes he'll go very well under Olive's claim, he's got a good chance as do a few of mine at Musselburgh.

Windsor Runners

1.34 Windsor: Bond Broker
I don't think he ran well the last day, it was a day at Plumpton when a few of mine ran awful races, I don't know what happened that day, none of them ran well so I'd say he'll improve on that.
Two miles around Windsor, a flat track, will suit him very well. Jay Tidball takes off a handy 5lb so I think he's got a lovely chance.
2.09 Windsor: Toothless
He hadn't run for a long time, he very nearly died of colic, he'd had a bit of a leg problem so his run at Wincanton was his first run for a long time, he ran a bit fresh and a bit free and he just got a bit tired.
He will have improved enormously for that run, he loves good ground, it's a £30k race but he's not without a chance.
