Mutakayyef leads 11 in Winter Derby contention

Mutakayyef tops a potential field of 11 in this year's Betway Winter Derby at Lingfield on Saturday.William Haggas' six-year-old will have to concede upwards of 5lb all round, but he is rated 9lb higher than his closest opposition on the figures, Sir Michael Stoute's Convey.Mutakayyef won the Summer Mile last year before finishing third behind Postponed in the Juddmonte International and filling the same place in the Woodbine Mile won by Tepin.Last year's winner Grendisar is back for Marco Botti, while former Haggas inmate Battalion could take his chance for Jamie Osborne.Pinzolo, Mythical Madness, Solar Deity, You're Fired, Gawdawpalin, Zhui Feng and Absolute Blast, who is now with Archie Watson, complete the list.
