Monday tips: Alex Scott marks your card

At the time of writing, this horse is the outsider of the field at 6-1 and I am surprised at that given the form Harry Derham is in at the moment. He is sure to stay this trip and there is every reason to believe that this Point-to-Point runner up can improve for going over fences this season.

He also goes well fresh having won on his stable debut over hurdles first time out last Autumn, and that as off just a 2lb lower mark than this.

This race may not take lots of winning and, with his trainer operating at a 45 per cent strike rate over the past two weeks, Copshill Lad looks a decent bet in this heat off a mark of just 107.

Arqoob arrives here fit and in good form in a race where conditions should suit, and looks to have a decent chance off bottom weight with Harry Cobden aboard.

Usually seen on the Flat, he won easily at Newmarket before finishing sixth in the Mallard at Doncaster, which was a top effort.

He then returned to hurdling at Warwick last month where he finished second, and whilst the winner of that has since disappointed, there is every reason to think he is a bet in this race weight given there are no ground concerns or any fitness issues. 

He is still below his last winning hurdles mark despite the decent end to his Flat campaign and the early 11-2 makes plenty of appeal with his main market rivals all coming here off a break and potentially needing the run.
