Betting expert Dave Nevison has four selections across Wetherby and Newmarket on Saturday, all live on Racing TV!
1.15 Wetherby: Pep Talking
After leaving Paul Webber last year,
Pep Talking did really well for Billy Aprahamian last season when winning four races over fences.
He again ran well to finish second on his return at Huntingdon this month and definitely shaped as though he would come on for that outing.
The selection runs off the same mark here in the highest grade he has ever contested. However, he races off bottom weight, and this track favours horses with his enthusiastic running style, so he has enough going for him to suggest double-figure odds might be generous.
I'm hoping he will reward each-way support, at least.
2.17 Newmarket: Principality
Principality has been running consistently well recently having evidently got over his issues at the start of the season.
The James Eustace-trained gelding is back down to his last winning mark now and, providing his stalls problems don’t resurface, he has a good chance of landing another victory.
The three-year-old probably performed better than his effort at Goodwood last time out suggests given he was wide throughout, and a pound drop by the handicapper afterwards was generous.
This is his ideal trip and he gets on well with Kieran Shoemark, which is another positive.

2.50 Newmarket: Spring Bloom
Spring Bloom generally goes well on the Rowley Mile and ran arguably his best race this season when fourth over the minimum trip here in May. He prefers six furlongs, though, and ran well in this contest last year.
He is 6lb lower this year and Jack Callan, who has done well on him recently, claims a useful 5lb. Spring Bloom has also not had the best of luck recently having unseated his rider on his penultimate start, and then lost at least a place after his jockey dropped his reins close home last time out.
That was his first start for Darryll Holland and Spring Bloom was backed into favouritism, so is clearly thought to have settled in well to his new yard, and hopefully he can make it second time lucky for the Holland team here.
4.05 Wetherby: Red Delta
Fiona Needham, who famously trained Sine Nomine to win the St. James's Place Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, looks to have a young horse who can certainly excel outside of that company this season.
Red Delta won on his handicap debut in good style last time out, albeit that was a weak contest at Sedgefield. He has been raised jut 5lb for that success and still looks well handicapped. Needham has also negated the rise by booking the excellent Charlie Maggs, who takes off 5lb, for the ride.
Red Delta has won many times in point-to-points and definitely looks to have further upside, so can strike here before moving up in grade.
