Mick Quinn is leaning towards keeping
Great Hall at Pattern-race level in the Group Three Worthington's Indigo Leisure Stakes at
Newbury on Saturday week.
After having rattled off a hat-trick in handicaps, the son of Halling finished a respectable sixth when stepped into Group Three level at Ascot last time.
The seven-year-old could now stay at that level at Newbury, in race better known as the St Simon Stakes.
Quinn said: "It just dried out at Ascot. They didn't go quick enough for him and he stayed on at the one pace.
"I think he would have been closer if the ground was softer.
"There is the Group Three at
Newbury and there is also a handicap at Leicester on the Monday after that.
"The weather will decide where we go. If it was soft I would like to go Newbury then he could go for the November Handicap (Doncaster) afterwards."
