Top analyst and presenter Angus McNae shares his four best bets as Meydan returns on Friday - which horse "can take this drop in grade in his stride and dominate this field"?
1.30 Meydan: Midland Money
Midland Money can get Ed Crisford off to a winning start to his training career in Dubai.
This horse has back class, having finished second in the Grade One Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita in 2025. He has been lightly raced since then and may not be as good as he was, but this is a weak contest and he was thought good enough by his previous trainer Michael Costa to contest the Golden Shaheen on World Cup night in March.
He is well berthed in stall 1 and has Oisin Murphy on board who looks set to link up with Ed Crisford on a regular basis this season. Midland Money can take this drop in grade in his stride and dominate this field.
2.05 Meydan: Ten Carat Harry
I am taking a chance that Ten Carat Harry can translate his turf form to the dirt; if he can I do not hesitate to suggest he will win.
He has comfortably the best form in this race represented by his third place finish at Royal Ascot in the summer behind Bacio. The speed figure he acquired there makes him standout in this company but he needs to handle this surface and that is the unknown.
He does act on Polytrack, but dirt is something new, however in this company it is a chance worth taking.

3.50 Meydan: Sirocco Winds
The Al Maktoum Cup can go to the Bhupat Seemar team with Sirocco Winds who is the least exposed in this field.
When last seen in March he was a ready winner of a handicap here at Meydan where he defied a poor draw in stall 16. He has gone up 9lb for that success, but is open to plenty of improvement on his first start for the prolific Seemar team from a good draw in stall 3.
5.00 Meydan: Nam Phrik
Nam Phrik is the solid option in the concluding handicap, even if his come from behind running style is not the usual formula for winning on the dirt.
When last seen in march he was an excellent second off 93, staying on strongly at the end of that handicap and he gets to race off the same mark today.
Danny Tudhope is an excellent jockey booking and he has ridden this horse before when finishing third here in February.
Nam Phrik can gain reward for his consistency.
