1.10 Musselburgh: Kartini

9/4

Kartini will never live up to her high class pedigree but I have a hunch she could improve over this extended trip.

She has raced over 10 furlongs since joining her current yard and after a few runs where she met different kinds of trouble, scored in good style last time out.

Stamina won the day on that occasion and she powered clear under Paul Mulrennan, who rides again, winning by 3 ½ lengths.

An extra five pounds would not have stopped her winning and as long as she is fit and well turned out under a penalty I feel it is likely she will do even better for the step up.

1.42 Musselburgh: Eagles Dream

18/1

Eagles Dream has plummeted in the weights since joining Tristan Davidson from Ireland and a wind op in the summer hasn’t had much impact.

However the filly may be one to consider at a price here after a glance at her latest effort.

Habitually a slow starter, Eagles Dream was way off the pace but staying on quite nicely at the death.

Her best form in Ireland came over this trip and further and off much higher marks. It is possible she could build on her latest effort now she is back up two furlongs, especially in a race where several rivals look to have had enough for this season.

The Davison yard is going pretty well with a couple of winners in late October.

2.45 Musselburgh: Cavallo Pazzo

4/1

Cavallo Pazzo took a while to hit form after leaving the Joseph O’Brien yard and was beginning to look a bit disappointing, but after the handicapper relented he has bounced back with a vengeance with two recent wins and he can complete a quick hat trick.

Despite the two wins the 7yo is still racing off a mark 3lbs lower than he has previously won from in the past and looks like he may well still be able to defy a mark of 69 given the way he has been winning recently.
