Martin Dixon's Saturday tips: 25-1 chance among four bets

Best odds: 10-1 (each-way, if all eight run).

I'm going to side with Spyce each-way here, providing all eight run, as the 10-1 available appeals. 

He's a youngster that has made a promising start to his career as he was a fast-finishing second in the British Stallion Studs EBF Convivial Maiden Stakes on debut at York, which was a big effort, and he then showed a brilliant attitude when fending off a well-bred newcomer (trained by the Gosdens) at Yarmouth last time out.

He pulled nicely clear with the runner-up there, and the time figures he has produced on both outings have been strong. I also liked the way he went through the line at Yarmouth, and I think the extra couple of furlongs here will be within reach as he's a half-brother to a horse that won over 1m4f, and there are lots of middle-distance horses in his family.

Hopefully he has enough experience now to see out this trip at this early stage of his career, and he looks overpriced at 10-1.

Northern Ticker did this column a favour at the Sky Bet Ebor Festival and although he is vying for favouritism here, I still believe there is plenty of mileage in his handicap mark.

He ran at Ayr last time out and travelled through the race like he was still in good form, and well handicapped. Unfortunately, he was on the wrong part of the track, and in the wrong group, on that occasion. 

The selection runs off a 2lb lower mark now and returns to a sounder surface plus the scene of his finest hour over course and distance in August. 

Although this is a typically competitive handicap, most of his opposition are quite exposed compared to him, and I like his draw in stall seven because Hammer The Hammer is drawn next door, and that rival should give him a good tow into the race. 

Best odds: 11-4.

This is a well-bred colt by No Nay Never who has got some highly-rated siblings, and cost €190,000 at the breeze-up sales. He has progressed in each of his three outings so far and has travelled strongly through his races.

I thought he showed a good cruising speed, and turn of foot, when he scored at Kempton on his most recent start, and an opening mark of 81 looks lenient. The fast ground on the Rowley Mile will also suit him well.

I definitely think he's been let in lightly off his rating based on what he has shown in novice races, and is a bet at the general 11-4 on offer.

I think Lady Roxby has an each-way chance here. This is a big step up in class for her having been narrowly denied in a couple of handicaps on her past two outings, but she's a filly that has had a progressive season having started off in low-grade handicaps. 

She travels well through her races and she proved last time out that she's a filly in good form plus is suited by this track. 

With the ground riding quick, it won't necessarily be suitable conditions for most of her rivals, and she arrives here at the top of her game. At 25-1, I'm giving her an each-way chance.
