Legacy Link viewed as potential Classic challenger

Legacy Link is creating plenty of excitement for next season after her staying-on fourth in the Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket.
Trained by John and Thady Gosden, the regally-bred daughter of Dubawi – who is out of a sister to Frankel – built on her July course debut to create a taking impression when opening her account at Haydock.
Despite ultimately being no match for the more-experienced Precise when upped into Group One company on the Rowley Mile, hopes are high she can come into her own when raised in trip as a three-year-old, with the possibility she could begin 2026 in a Classic trial.
“She’s a lovely filly for next year and ran a huge race,” said Barry Mahon, European racing manager for owners Juddmonte.
“Colin (Keane, jockey) said she just felt a little immature throughout the race and it showed she lacked experience as she got into a little bit of a muddle in the dip. But the last 100 yards she stayed on very well.
“We’ll wrap her up now, she’s a big filly with plenty of strength and we’ll put her away now. She’s really exciting for next year.
“She will be a mile-and-a-quarter filly next year and I think between John, Thady and Colin, we will see if we start at a mile and then move up to a mile and a quarter or just jump straight up to a mile and a quarter and go straight into something like an Oaks trial.”
