Dave Nevison's Tuesday tips: "His chance is obvious"

Tropez Power was rated 90 not too long ago when he raced for the John & Sean Quinn team, but his form deteriorated over the past 12 months, and he has now joined the Mark Walford yard. 

After a disappointing first start for his new connections, he shaped encouragingly last time out when finishing fourth at Beverley in a higher grade than this. 

He has been ridden by an apprentice on his past two outings but Jack Garritty takes over in the saddle now, and off a pound lower mark, he can go well. 

The six-year-old has never contested a race of this grade so if his last run was an indication that he has stemmed the decline, his chance is obvious.

This is a competitive handicap for a Tuesday afternoon at Leicester, but Tom Clover’s three-year-old looks to be one of only a few with plenty of potential upside at this stage of the season. Sixtygeesbaby had a mid-summer break, and may have needed his first run back in September, but he definitely showed the benefit last time out. 

He was beaten just a head in another decent race at Newmarket when last seen and it appears as though he has more improvement in him given this is only his eighth start. 

The selection hasn’t won over seven furlongs yet, but the way he keeps on in his races suggests he might be best suited by this trip. 

Mystical Maria generally races in higher-grade handicaps, and can outclass a big field of moderate handicappers here. 

Richard Fahey’s filly has been in strong form recently and ran her best race of the season when narrowly beaten at Beverley last time out. 

This is a lower grade, and Warren Fentiman claims his full 5lb allowance, which offsets the pound higher mark Mystical Maria is asked to race off now. 

The four-year-old has winning form off higher marks in the past and can still be regarded as well handicapped, so her chance is clear.
