Left Hand 7-2 to make Vermeille history

Left Hand is 7-2 to become the first horse to win the Prix Vermeille back-to-back when she takes her chance at Chantilly on Sunday.
The daughter of Dubawi was a comfortable winner of the Group One contest last season and while she has struggled to rediscover her best form so far this year, her recent third-placed finish in the Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville was a big step in the right direction.
The Group One event, which was established in 1897, was restricted to three-year-old fillies until 2004 and was won twice by Treve in 2013 and 2015.
Pierre-Yves Bureau, racing manager to Left Hand's owners the Wertheimer brothers, said: "Left Hand is on course for the Prix Vermeille and Carlos (Laffon-Parias, trainer) is very pleased with her.
"It has taken a little bit of time for her to find her feet this season, but her last run made us very happy. It showed us she still has the ability and can still fight.
"I'm not sure what else will run in the Vermeille at this stage, but hopefully our filly is near her best again."
Left Hand was one of 16 fillies to stand their ground at the latest forfeit stage.
Last year's runner-up Endless Time is, along with Pretty Asset, one of two contenders for Charlie Appleby.
The Roger Varian-trained Ajman Princess could bid for a second successive top-level win in France following last month's triumph in the Prix Jean Romanet.
John Gosden's pair of Journey and The Black Princess, Andrew Balding's Blond Me and Luca Cumani's God Given are the other British contenders.
The brilliant Winter is one of three fillies in contention for Aidan O'Brien, who could also saddle Seventh Heaven and Hydrangea, while fellow Irish trainer Dermot Weld has left in Zhukova.
Bateel, trained by Francis Graffard, is a leading contender for the home team.
