We have had nice sunshine this week in Ireland, and some positive news on Covid-19 vaccines, so there's light at the end of the tunnel, and a couple of interesting cards on Sunday.
The best bet on the two cards is possibly my first one here. Best of luck.
1.45 Dundalk: Getaway Queen at a general 15-2
It was no great surprise that this strong-travelling, Getaway mare win over hurdles this month considering the quality of the race, but she's clearly in good nick and she's ready to win again here.
This is her ideal course and distance, but her runs over shorter here before the Tramore win were perfectly encouraging. She looks pretty nailed on each-way.
3.30 Dundalk: Devious Dreamer at 20-1 with Bet365
This horse looks worth siding with at double-figure odds. Ten furlongs on heavy ground looked against him last time, but he ran better than the bare result at this course previously on his handicap debut, initially finding quite a bit for pressure.
His sixth at Gowran in an autumnal maiden as a two-year-old suggests a handicap win was a formality, especially the way he travelled on nice ground then.
4.20 Tramore: Espion Du Chenet at a general 9-2
Two miles is this horse's trip (when he gets around) and the track should very much suit. He travels well and still looks weighted to win a handicap before the end of the season.
5.15 Dundalk: Shahaada at 11-8 with Bet365
Kevin Prendergast's 25 per cent strike-rate at Dundalk was an incredible achievement last year and his horses are in good nick right now.
His former inmate Awtaad hasn't set the world alight at stud so far but his progeny at least should improve.
Even so, Shahaada was sent off just 18-5 on debut in a Curragh maiden in August when doing all bar winning.
