John Gosden confirms Great Voltigeur winner Cracksman for Prix Niel

Runaway Great Voltigeur Stakes winner Cracksman will have an outing in the Prix Niel at Chantilly next weekend.
Placed in the English and Irish Derby, the John Gosden-trained colt was a dazzling victor at York last week, after which connections stressed they were in no rush to commit to another run this season.
The Champion Stakes and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe were flagged up as the only possible options, but it later emerged the French race would be considered for the son of Frankel, and that will now be the case.
The Niel is regarded as a leading trial for the Arc, and Gosden said: "He runs in the Prix Niel and all decisions will be made after that.
"He's in very good form. He did a good, strong canter this morning and we're very happy with him.
"These French trials are often trappy as they're a bit like those velodrome cycle races - they go creep, creep, creep and then sprint.
"They trot and sprint, so he could well be forced to make his own running, we'll see."
Should Cracksman eventually be given the green light for the Arc, he will likely meet brilliant stable companion Enable.
Gosden issued a positive update on the well-being of the English, Irish and Yorkshire Oaks heroine, adding on ITV Racing: "This morning she did a 360 pirouette turn and nearly dropped the rider, so she's feeling well."
