Jessica Harrington is targeting the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan with Torcedor following his tremendous effort in defeat on Champions Day at Ascot.
The five-year-old won his first two starts after joining Harrington from the now-retired David Wachman, claiming the scalp of Order Of St George in the Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan in the spring.
That form has been reversed on three occasions since, but Torcedor has performed admirably to finish fifth in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot and second in the Irish St Leger before getting within half a length of his old foe in Saturday's Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup.
Harrington said: "He ran a great race and that's him done for the year.
"We'll aim him towards the two-mile race on Dubai World Cup night in March, that's the plan.
"He's had a great season, going up over a stone in the ratings, and we look forward to next year with him."
Michael Bell has already stated that Big Orange, who was 11th on unsuitably soft ground on Saturday, is also in line for a return trip to Dubai having finished fourth to Vazirabad in March.
Another Harrington inmate who is now enjoying a winter break is the high-class filly Alpha Centauri.
The daughter of Mastercraftsman was hugely impressive in winning her first two starts and came within a neck of claiming Royal Ascot glory when narrowly beaten by Different League in the Albany Stakes.
She has run just once since, finishing fifth in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh in September.
"She is also finished for the year and we'll start to get her ready for the spring," the trainer added.
