Our resident website tipster Dave Nevison picked 11-2 winner Sir Robin on Tuesday and likes three runners at Wincanton and Fakenham. Enjoy more evening action from Chelmsford live on Racing TV.
1.30 Wincanton: Fame and Fun
I missed out on a Freddie Gingell winner the other day, but that was an odds-on chance and I am determined not to miss many more while the rider is used sparingly by Paul Nicholls.
The teenager was on board Fame and Fun when winning a similar race to this one last time and, though by a narrow margin, it was ultimately a decisive success with the six-year-old looking well on top at the finish.
This race is a very slight drop in grade but it looks competitive with a few others lurking with more to offer, yet I am happy to stick with Gingell and Fame And Fun, who looks like a real improver now.
2.40 Fakenham: Brandisova
Lucy Wadham has her runners in really good form and the trainer is always one to look out for at Fakenham. She has found a good opportunity for this mare to break her maiden over hurdles.
Brandisova has been dropped 2lb for her latest decent effort at Catterick while her running style - either leading or being up in the vanguard - is also perfect for Fakenham’s tight bends.
None of her rivals arrive here in the same sort of form so it will be disappointing if she can’t go very close to winning
3.00 Wincanton: Butterwick Brook
It isn’t just the Gingell factor that takes the eye here, even if I am obviously watching all his rides at the moment and with his 7lb claim a massive consideration for me.
Butterwick Brook is now 3lb lower than when he won over this course and distance in December 2021 as he lost his form in the second half of that season, but he looks to have returned fresh and has run two placed efforts this term.
You can probably put a line through his latest run as that was over at least half a mile too short and he lost a shoe as well. He will be running off 102 here and, taking the rider’s claim into account, I believe another place at least looks likely.
