Top tipster Dave Nevison marks your card at Leicester, which you can watch live on Racing TV
1.10 Leicester: Jack Valentine
A short absence since his latest run may explain further a below-par effort. With his stable in typically good form in January, it would be no surprise if he bounced back here.
Jack Valentine looked as though he was something to look forward to after his Bumper win but it took him a little while to win a race over hurdles. However, there is still time for him to improve and conditions look right for him here.
It looks very likely that he will not be pressed too hard for the lead, which is his confirmed running style and is a tactic his jockey excels at. Charlie Deutsch won on him at Exeter and takes over once more.
2.40 Leicester: San Seb
San Seb beat Song For Someone by 11 lengths when he won his novice at Fakenham a couple of years ago. While San Seb has been absent, that horse has developed into an outsider for the Unibet Champion Hurdle.
There were other winners behind as well, so it is not surprising that San Seb was given a tougher mark than we would normally expect from a Fakenham winner.
He was not up to defying 128, but has dropped 7lb in two runs, plus will be fitter. His latest run, when third at Wincanton, was a definite step up on his reappearance at Accot and if he could progress just a little more I would expect him to figure in a competitive handicap.
3.10 Leicester: Overworkdunderpaid
A big field but with several are difficult to fancy and I expect a very good run from Laura Morgan’s new acquisition.
The trainer changed a few things around for his first run and it definitely paid off in decent style.
Overworkdunderpaid seemed to appreciate the drop down in trip at Hexham and jumped better than he had on occasions possibly due to a visor being applied.
He was closed down due to idling close home but had the race won and a 4lb rise may well be lenient. Hopefully, he will confirm himself a new and improved model.
