Our website tipster selected Don Herbager (advised at 3-1) on Tuesday, and has a trio of selections for Wednesday's racing action.
Has been raised 6lb for winning by just half a length last time out over course and distance, but I backed him that day, and even though the winning-margin was ultimately narrow, I was confident throughout.
I also believe the massively-improved Charlie Deutsch was supremely confident throughout and ensured his mount won comfortably, but with the minimum exertion.
The 6lb rise is fair and I think there is improvement to come, especially now that it has been confirmed two miles is his optimum trip.
He has jumped around three demanding courses - Wincanton, Wetherby and
Newbury - and a glance at his rivals does not show a similar accomplishment.
If he gets into the same rhythm as last time, then this six-year-old could force his rivals to make errors.
There are quite a few lightly-raced improvers in this big-field handicap, and I am hoping that Zamani will prove a better value bet at 18-1.
At first glance, his four runs this season look disappointing, but things could have gone better for him on each occasion.
Having been lowered 6lb in the weights this autumn, I believe a case can be made for him getting a place here, at least.
The big field will suit him, and he was still staying on when hampered in a similar event at Cheltenham last time out.
That race was surprisingly slowly run but a decent pace looks guaranteed here, which should enable him to settle better, and with a clear run off a lower mark, he can stay on into a place.
Tom George’s yard is in good form and just needs the rub of the green to get a few more winners on the board.
There are few angles in this race and Forgot To Ask is put up as a solid selection, rather than a massively-progressive type, but against other exposed runners, I think he may be the most reliable option.
He might be better suited by
Newbury than the tight track at Wincanton where he ran well at before Christmas, and I do not think he will be bothered if any more rain gets into the ground.
