Has only had three starts and definitely looks to have more progress left in him, which gives him a different profile to most in this field and is the main reason I am putting him up.
Those three runs have told us plenty already and he has proved he definitely acts well on soft ground, and it certainly looks as though he will be suited by this step up in trip.
Even though he is by Kodiac, there is lots of stamina on the dam side of his pedigree. He beat Pagan on his debut - that horse is now rated much higher – before he disappointed on his next start and then was absent during the summer.
He returned last month with a perfectly respectable effort and I think he is ready to pick up the winning thread.
Has joined Alan King and will no doubt be going hurdling, but King is equally a flat trainer these days and will obviously have noted the horse’s falling handicap mark.
His three wins have all come on either soft or heavy ground, so he is a perfect horse for these conditions at this time of the year.
He ran well enough on his debut for the yard last time and has been dropped another pound since plus a long straight at a track like Nottingham will suit him perfectly.
Strolled home when a well-backed 5-4 chance at Hamilton last time out in similar conditions to this and has gone up 4lb for that victory, which looks lenient.
He had signalled that victory was on the horizon when an excellent third off a mark only a pound lower than today’s and there is no way he is not well-enough handicapped to win another race.
His last three starts came within the space of six days, but his trainer continues in good form and readers of this tipping column know I rate Ella McCain in these races.
