Katie Midwinter's Friday tips: 33-1 and 22-1 picks across Newmarket and Listowel

At the early 33-1 available, Sunshine Star is an interesting contender for the John and Thady Gosden yard in the hands of Billy Loughnane. She made each-way appeal ahead of her intended assignment in Listed company at York's Sky Bet Ebor Festival before being withdrawn on account of unsuitable softer ground, and, although this requires even further improvement at Group Three level, she could be worth keeping onside.

The daughter of Sea The Stars is out of Dansili mare Dream Peace, who won a Group Two over a mile-and-a-quarter and was only narrowly denied in the Grade One Diana Stakes. She has already produced a number of black-type achievers including a Classic winner in the shape of 2023 Betfred Oaks heroine Soul Sister.

The best could be yet to come from Sunshine Start over middle-distance trips and she shaped with some promise in her first start over a mile-and-a-half when fourth in Listed company on the July Course last month.

Ruby Moon is another big-priced filly who could be capable of outrunning odds of 22-1 in the Group Two Betway Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket on Friday. Her form figures aren't quite as attractive as the main protagonists at the head of the market, but she has some noteworthy form against talented rivals having gained plenty of valuable experience this season which should hold her in good stead.

Following a successful debut at Carlisle, the nicely-bred daughter of No Nay Never finished fourth in the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes on the July Course to subsequent four-length Group One winner Senorita Bonita. Group Two-winning Libertango was in second, with subsequent Listed winner Alwaysanangel in third, Jolivette, only narrowly denied by Nabati in the Mill Reef Stakes last weekend in fifth, and Salisbury Group Three winner Acclamation Star further behind in sixth.

The race has been working out exceptionally well and Ruby Moon was perhaps slightly unfortunate not to pose a bigger threat to Silent Beauty in a recent Group Three appearance at Ayr, finishing second to the eventual winner at the Scottish track. She has shown plenty of talent to date and, if replicating her previous effort at Newmarket, albeit on a different track, she could put in a bold bid.

A half-sister to Captain Guinness, Stoneyford Lady has been shaping with promise over fences for Henry de Bromhead over the past year or so and is only 3lb higher than her previous winning mark, plus is entitled to keep on improving as she gains experience.

An unlucky faller when last seen at Ballinrobe, she was in contention before coming down on that occasion and could bounce back at Listowel from a workable mark.

Although this is a competitive handicap, the seven-year-old mare is one to note, holding each-way claims under Darragh O'Keeffe. There could be more to come from Stoneyford Lady, and she could be worth keeping onside.

Top-weight Flying Frontier is equipped with first-time blinkers as he bids to return to the winners' enclosure, dropping in class in this 1m1f handicap finale on the card. He hasn't been quite at his best this year so far but has dropped to a mark of 88 as a result, currently 7lb below his last winning rating.

Things haven't panned out favourably for him as of yet this term, but, in calmer waters with the addition of headgear, he could be worth keeping the faith in for James Tate and Rossa Ryan, who have an all-time strike-rate of 21 percent when teaming up.
