The Prix de Diane at Chantilly is the likely target for
Evolutionist following her fine second-placed effort in the 1000 Guineas.
Having impressively won the Prix de la Grotte at ParisLongchamp on her seasonal debut, the Karl Burke-trained filly headed to Newmarket, where she found only Aidan O’Brien’s True Love too good.
Paul Curran, racing and bloodstock manager for owners Forz Europe Ltd, said: “She’s looking great and she’s come out of the race really well. She’s a top filly and she puts a lot into her racing.
“We’re very happy with her and we’re going to do right by her and go for the Prix de Diane, so we’re going to skip the Irish Guineas and just give her a little bit more time and I think that’s the right decision for her. But she’s come out of it well and she’s looking great.
“The plan was always from the start of her three-year-old career that we’d target one of the Oaks. And the French Oaks looks the more likely of the two.
“The Prix de Diane was always the talk before Ascot so we’ll go there and more than likely Ascot will come a little bit too quick. But as always we’ll let her do the talking for us.”
Double Rush could be Wokingham-bound after he made it two from two for Andrew Balding in a valuable handicap at Newmarket on 2000 Guineas Day.
He has been raised 10lb for that victory and the big handicap at Royal Ascot is pencilled in for the son of Blue Point.
Curran said: “He had a good run and won it well.
“He’s off 105 now and we’ve a few options with him. We were thinking do you throw him in at the deep end? But more than likely we will go for the Wokingham.
“He’s another exciting one and he’s going in the right direction. Hopefully he can take a step further and enter Group class.”
