Angus McNae's free Sunday Selections

This mare was an easy winner of a Limerick novice hurdle last time lut with the promise of plenty more to come. She has progressed quickly over hurdles and her trainer Gordon Elliott is in tremendous form. The booking of Sean Bowen catches the eye and she can win this before going on to better things over this two and a half mile trip and even further in time. 

This horse was well supported last time out and put up a much improved performance over fences to finish fourth in a strong contest at Fairyhouse. He was a useful hurdler and that recent run over fences suggests that he may be able to replicate that hurdles form over the larger obstacles. This race is not as strong as the one he contested last time out and he can getr off the mark over fences. 

This Listed contest can do the way of William Haggas whose Purple Rainbow had a nice prep race for this when shaping well at Ascot last time out. That race was steadily run and did not bring out the best in this filly. The slow pace meant she was too keen and then lacked a finishing kick. She went into that race off a four month lay - off and will strip fitter here. 

Hamish has an excellent record when fresh winning on all four of hos seasonal reappearances and can repeat the trick this year. The rain has come to his aid as well given that all his best form has come on easy ground and this represents a drop ion grade given some of the races he competed in last season. Everything is in place for a big run.
