One thing that struck me at Dundalk on Friday night - and especially for the much longer jump races at Fairyhouse - was how few jockeys wore gloves. Exposing your fingers to these temperatures travelling at speed can be deeply uncomfortable. These are hardy characters.
Today's race does all the talking itself. Here are a couple.
It's so unusual to see two of the top three horses in the betting here aged almost nine and almost 11.
Still, Letsbeclearaboutit is pretty lightly raced and he was pretty awesome at Cork when looking a really natural jumper. This is clearly a smart race, yet on that performance it will take a hell of an effort to beat him.
The market was remarkable at Galway when the really easy-to-back Kaleosun beat the well-backed Ose Partir.
One could see why there was so much money for the Martin Brassil runner, who was a little keen but ran a really promising race. He should reverse that form in this rematch and improve further.
