Evan Williams eyeing Adonis date for Evening Hush

Evan Williams is a firm believer in Evening Hush's ability and he is keen to run the filly in the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton on February 25. The Llancarfan trainer admitted being disappointed when Evening Hush was beaten 13 lengths by Triumph Hurdle favourite Defi Du Seuil in the Finale Hurdle at Chepstow over Christmas.The four-year-old had won her two previous races in impressive fashion and Williams had expected more. He feels that was not her true running and wants to give her a proper test to see if she is up to Grade One standard."I've got her in a few places - I put her in at Exeter (on Sunday). I don't know what to do," he told At the Races."I don't know quite how to take the Chepstow race, The winner (Defi Du Seuil) was mightly impressive."I keep thinking we didn't run our race for some reason. It's silly to say that after running in a Grade One."I might miss the weekend and go for the Adonis and take on a good horse there just to know where I am. I still think she's a lot better than she ran in Chepstow."Perhaps a flatter track would suit her, so perhaps we'd go there to see if she's smart enough to run in those Grade One races."I thought she'd go closer to winning than she did in Chepstow in the Grade One last time. We were well and truly beaten by the Hobbs' horse. He's very good obviously, but I still can't think we're that bad."Chepstow is a funny place on heavy ground in the middle of winter. She was so impressive around Aintree, albeit in a Listed race. The time was very good and was visibly very good."I may be looking through rose-tinted glasses but I still think she's better than she was last time."
