Dean Ivory has warned that Lancelot Du Lac is likely be in need of the run at Chelmsford on Thursday as he takes the first step towards making a third appearance on All-Weather Championships Finals Day.The seven-year-old will attempt to give upwards of 8lb to his five rivals in a five-furlong handicap at the Essex track on what will be his first start since finishing last in a Group Three at Sandown in July. Lancelot Du Lac finished a respective second and eighth in the last two renewals of the All-Weather Sprint Championships on Finals Day, and will once again be aimed at that six-furlong dash at Lingfield on Good Friday. Ivory said: "He is probably going to need it (the run) at Chelmsford as he has been off for a while and he is giving a lot of weight away, but we have got to start him somewhere. "We had a bit of a bug in the yard last year and we just gave him more time off as he is more of an all-weather horse."He has just taken a bit longer to get ready. And as he is getting a bit older, I don't want to rush him as he is not just an old selling plater."The plan is to get him qualified for the sprint final again and I think he would have won it last year with a better draw."
