12.35 Musselburgh: Profiteer
Tim Easterby had a bit of a lull in late summer into early autumn, but he is ending the season in flying form and this three-year-old is on a hat-trick after two recent wins at Pontefract.
Profiteer has been on the go since May but has improved gradually and really come good recently.
Hopefully, he will be equally effective at what could not be a more different track to Pontefract but he has fared well with a draw in stall 8 and has plenty going for him.
He is still quite lightly raced and looks the improver in this field.
3.35 Musselburgh: Beltane
Beltane last won a race off a mark of 77 in spring of 2023 and has had a slow descent down the ratings since despite some good runs along the road.
He did show a clear sign last time that he could win off Wednesday’s mark of 61 when runner-up at Catterick in a more competitive event than this.
Trainer Mark Walford has had a winner and nothing out of the frame this month, so it could also be that Beltane’s yard is coming back into form after a quiet spell.
3.10 Musselburgh: Savrola
Savrola was a solid fourth at Ayr last time and has dropped 10lb in the ratings since he joined the Dianne Sayer yard. It looks as though he is ready to take advantage.
He is stepping up in trip here, which looks very much as though it could suit him very well (his Listed class dam looked like a stayer).
The cheekpieces he often wears have been left off but Paul Mulrennan, who has a good record when teaming up with Sayer, takes over.
