Dave Nevison's Wednesday tips: "it looks a very winnable mark"

Top tipster Dave Nevison shares his three best bets across Hamilton and Kempton on Wednesday, with every contest from both meetings live on Racing TV.

5.20 Hamilton: Impressor
As a nine-year-old, it is possible that Impressor is simply on the decline, but I feel he is worth risking a bet in this modest event.
Philip Makin’s veteran has slipped to an extremely low mark, but perhaps most signifcantly, he will be racing on soft ground and all of his wins have come on ground that is good to soft or softer.
Impressor hit top form in September last season, winning over five furlongs here at Hamilton off a mark of 68 and running well all month. He could easily do the same again in 2026 if there is any fire left in him.
5.50 Hamilton: Clocker
Clocker is a lightly-raced and improving handicapper who has won two of her last four starts in modest northern handicaps.
Ed Bethell’s three-year-old has only been raised 4lb for her latest win and is only creeping up the handicap. It may be that the assessor has been generous, as a look through her recent races shows next time out winners and strong performances from subsequent runners.
Her wins have come on fast ground, but she has shown enough on two soft ground runs to suggest she acts on it. She also seems to have overcome a tendency to start slowly, so there still looks to be plenty of potential upside.

8.00 Kempton: Blakefell
Blakefell is in hot form and was narrowly beaten at this trip here and at Musselburgh on his two most recent starts.
He runs off the same mark as when beaten just a neck at Musselburgh and it is no surprise Ivan Furtado runs him again quickly to take advantage of what looks a very winnable mark.
He has a good draw for a horse who races prominently in stall 2 and looks set to go close.
