1.35 Haydock: Lac De Constance
Dan Skelton has switched this nine-year-old back to fences after a couple of warm-up runs over hurdles, and the move looks to have a good chance of paying dividends.
Lac De Constance improved for his seasonal debut last time out when fading after going well for a long way in a much stronger contest at
Market Rasen.
He was seriously impressive when winning on his chasing debut last season, albeit in just a three-runner race, so it was disappointing to see his jumping go to pieces on his two subsequent starts over larger obstacles.
I can’t imagine Skelton has not schooled him for this return to fences, and hopefully the selection will again show what he is capable of.

1.50 Taunton: Fat Faced Columbo
Fat Faced Columbo has improved with each of his three runs under rules so far, most notably when he was upped to this trip and switched to fences last time out.
He was beaten just a short-head at Exeter and the winner of that race, Special John, followed up at Wincanton, so the form looks strong.
Richard Mitford-Slade's five-year-old has been raised 3lb for that effort, but definitely looks to have plenty of upside, and appears a decent bet here.

2.50 Taunton: Bitsnbuckles
Olly Murphy has had a good first half of the season, and
Bitsnbuckles has been improving gradually plus has plenty in his favour in this low-grade handicap.
He was not quick enough to win a point-to-point, but ran well in all of his starts in that sphere, so he will definitely appreciate the step up to three miles now.
There is set to be a decent pace in this race, and Sean Bowen is back in the saddle. Hopefully the champion jockey can deliver him strongly in the closing stages, and I think Bitsnbuckles could outclass these rivals.
