Betting expert Dave Nevison has fancies at Market Rasen, Wincanton and Chelmsford. Watch how they fare on Racing TV. 1.40 Market Rasen: Diamond Twin
Is 2lbs worse off with Dr Lockdown, who finished ahead of him last time out, but he was rightly promoted ahead of that horse after suffering interference and I have little doubt he will confirm he is a better prospect than the bottom weight here.
Diamond Twin is having his fifth run over hurdles here and showed improvement upped to a trip in keeping with his pedigree and running in a handicap for the first time. He is wearing a tongue strap once again here, which also possibly played a part in his improved form, and it looks very unlikely we have seen the best of him.
3.15 Wincanton: Ede’ifffs EltonIs re-equipped with cheekpieces here and he could be a very good each-way bet against the short-priced favourite Eceparti here.
Robert Walford has his string in good form and if this nine-year-old improves for his very encouraging comeback run, then he should go close. Ede’Iffs Elton has dropped to a mark 5lb below his latest win and is seeking a fourth win at Wincanton, so is far from a forlorn hope to win here.
6.30 Chelmsford: Band Of Steel Has been a frustrating type for Sean Woods in handicaps recently. After a couple of runs over a mile without headgear, Woods is re-equipping him with a hood and added cheekpieces for the first time, plus he is dropping him to 7f.
Band Of Steel made his debut over this course and distance, running one of his best races, but this is his first run over the trip since. He didn’t get the best of runs last time and the cheekpieces might well sharpen him up here with the excellent Daniel Muscott booked for the first time. There is no doubt Band Of Steel has been disappointing since he was tried in a Group Three but he runs off a mark of 76 here and must have an excellent chance.
