Top tipster Dave Nevison has three fancies across Nottingham (live on Racing TV) and Newbury on Thursday, with his nap of the day running in the 4.05.

3.30 Newbury: Storm Free
Storm Free had a good season in 2025 when recording two wins, including one over this trip, from just four starts, and things started off quite promisingly on his reappearance this year when he finished best on the wrong side at Newmarket in a similar big-field handicap.
He then ended up in no mans land up the middle at Ascot in the Victoria Cup, and a line has to be put through that when considering backing him here.
I am happy to do so based on two other changes James Tate has made here. Oisin Murphy has been booked for the first time, and no jockey is riding better at present, and first-time cheekpieces look to be another positive move.

3.42 Nottingham: Return To Unit
This lightly-raced four-year-old was a big disappointment when I tipped him up on his reappearance recently, and he never really figured plus finished a well-beaten 7th.
It doesn’t look as though his connections are ever going to get too much of their 900,000gns investment back, but I do think this expensive gelding is worth one more chance.
Roger Varian has placed Return To Unit back at the same course and distance he won his maiden last season (when beating a rival now rated much higher), and he is racing under his winning jockey on similar going to that success.
He clearly will handle conditions, and if the newly-applied blinkers have a positive effect, he could well come on considerably from that recent run, and get back on an upward curve.
4.05 Newbury: Wild Clary
Richard Hannon’s consistent gelding looks the solid option here as Wild Clary has been most consistent in all his handicap starts since he won his maiden at Southwell last season, and has improved with just about every outing.
The selection has not managed to land a handicap yet, but the assessor hasn’t overreacted to his good efforts, so he certainly doesn’t look overburdened off a rating of 82.
Wild Clary has run well over course and distance before, and this looks a good opportunity to score.
