Dave Nevison has three fancies for Ludlow and Kempton Park on Wednesday, the two meetings that will be shown live on Racing TV. I was relieved to get my money back on this one when he was part of the void race fiasco at Sandown last time he appeared.
He would never have won that contest, but I thought his jockey was one of the first to realise what was happening and was easing down when others kept going.
It had the look of a decent effort and followed on from a promising run at Ascot on his previous start after a six-month absence.
This is a much less competitive event and the presence of confirmed front-runner Aubusson guarantees a pace which will suit.
I hope he will be able to time his run up to perfection up the challenging home straight at Ludlow and defy top weight.

Treasure Dillon was still travelling OK when making a bad mistake at Cheltenham last time out
I wish there were eight runners in this race for each-way purposes, but I had decided after his latest run at Cheltenham that I was going to give him at least one more chance to win a handicap.
He was well backed for a better race than this one and probably would not have won, but he had certainly not been asked for a major effort when landing awkwardly two out and forfeited all chance. He was not knocked about after his chance had gone.
He was only beaten about ten lengths and it is worth following his trainer’s runners at this track.
Sweet Serenade was quite an expensive purchase and there is no doubt she has been disappointing, but there were excuses on occasions last season and if her last run is anything to go by, there are signs she might be progressing. Indeed, she could prove to be very well handicapped off a rating of 60.
A strong pace here looks guaranteed and that should help from her wide draw and it is difficult to see Marco Botti’s Amicia turn the tables.
Unless there is a big move for the lightly-raced, Sir Mark Prescott-trained Cliff Wind, it is tough to see where the dangers will come from this time.
